oh and no coins sorry, well ok I have to get more as I looked last night and 7 out of 10 have small die crack on the left base of the effigy also meld on face and two tear drop type things so I'm thinking they might have to go away and I'll get some more for you lot :ok:

Was a good show to visit.
A couple of highlights would be the 1934/5 pattern specimen florin @ monetarium, the proofs on display at downies and the collection of proofs that Sterling and Currency had on display.
Yes, was good to meet everyone. I bought a bit of stuff for PPH and myself and a bit of stuff for The Purple Penny. Was a very long day. Here's a couple of interesting things I picked up for us.

Markn, that '52 shilling is interesting. I'm assuming that the damage at 11 o' clock on the obverse might be from a mint employee using a chisel or other sharp object to pry out this coin when it jammed in the press. I've noted that similar unsightly mint damage has happened to other pre decimals (mostly broadstuck coins). So how does PCGS treat such damage? Do they accept it as being caused in the mint and grade the coin with a bit lower grade or do they treat them like PMD damage and bodybag the coins?

Yes, it sure is. I've seen them like that on pennies and half pennies but I don't recall see a cud like this on a decimal coin before.

Yes, I assumed that's exactly what the damage is, and yes I've seen it many times before on errors. My guess is that PCGS would body bag it.
Any guesses as to what the error is? It was described as "weak strike". If you need a hint at what PPH and I think it is look at the file name of the image.

Yes, I am home. Yes, I weighed it, right on spec at 5.65g. PPH would probably knock me out if I tried to weigh her.

Bloody RG, I bought a 06 proof set for issue, could have probably done better but ya get that and a few more mint sets for $14 ea and a roll of tallships for $45 so really happy with that but just so good putting names to faces, I really had a nice time and meeting people was just icing on the cake..just so much to look at so will try and get some pic's loaded very soon :good:

Just great to get out as there's not much around here but I think some of the store holders were a bit peaved at me drooling all over their counters but if they want to put goodies out like that for me to ogle what else am I to do :laugh2:
Oh and I asked old mate at the press if they would do 10K of them and he said no 6.5 of the 'B' mint mark

he was going to get me a beaut unc modern (1967) gold sovvie at the last coin show and I thanked him but declined the offer
so anyways, he figured that a new phone might save his ears as he hears me cursing when I use my smaller screen & less high tech one
this new one even follows your eyes to scroll up or down and you can talk to it to make it work (if you can figure out how to do that), plus you can just wave your hand near the screen and again, it can scroll up down or sideways
it should do me for the next decade!!
And if you read then instruction book Robbiegal, it might have an auto button that will do everything automatically..........just you thinking about it and the phone just does it!!!!!!!!!
