oh and no coins sorry, well ok I have to get more as I looked last night and 7 out of 10 have small die crack on the left base of the effigy also meld on face and two tear drop type things so I'm thinking they might have to go away and I'll get some more for you lot :ok:

Oh well better go get ready for round two

I recomend getting to a show if you can as it's different and having so many coins in one spot is better than chrissie :laugh2:

Ok I might let some of my errors go if you can talk really really nice to me :blush2: but two are gone as there's two special friends that I think might like a little pick me up

It was great to meet everyone.
I was hoping to get back today but drinking too much last night has left me feeling a little under the weather.
Was a good show to visit.
A couple of highlights would be the 1934/5 pattern specimen florin @ monetarium, the proofs on display at downies and the collection of proofs that Sterling and Currency had on display.

Yes, was good to meet everyone. I bought a bit of stuff for PPH and myself and a bit of stuff for The Purple Penny. Was a very long day. Here's a couple of interesting things I picked up for us.

Markn, that '52 shilling is interesting. I'm assuming that the damage at 11 o' clock on the obverse might be from a mint employee using a chisel or other sharp object to pry out this coin when it jammed in the press. I've noted that similar unsightly mint damage has happened to other pre decimals (mostly broadstuck coins). So how does PCGS treat such damage? Do they accept it as being caused in the mint and grade the coin with a bit lower grade or do they treat them like PMD damage and bodybag the coins?

Yes, it sure is. I've seen them like that on pennies and half pennies but I don't recall see a cud like this on a decimal coin before.

Yes, I assumed that's exactly what the damage is, and yes I've seen it many times before on errors. My guess is that PCGS would body bag it.

Any guesses as to what the error is? It was described as "weak strike". If you need a hint at what PPH and I think it is look at the file name of the image.
