Had a great pick up the other day. Put some change into the Scumcorp coin machine and checked the count. All okay. Checked the coin return out of habit.
Coins here.
Someone must have dumped their grandmother's collection in the machine. A near pristine 1969 50 cent piece, a couple of uncirculated 1981 20 cents, a few 5 cent pieces and then the good stuff.
A 1963 shilling.
5 florins. 2 1959 ones and 3 1951 Jubilee florins. None are great condition but not awful and of course all of them are 50% silver so quite a win.
Someone must have been looking out for me.

Went through some handfuls of change and got a 2004 big head 20c and a 2001 Northern Territory 50c which was good, and a decent 2004 10c and 1980 20c as well.

From some more change I got a 1989 New Zealand 5c, a 2009 Fiji 20c, a 2016 Indonesia 500 rupiah, a 2019 U dollar and a 2019 S dollar.

Some more international from the last lot: 1986 New Zealand 20c, 2006 New Zealand 50c, 2019 New Zealand $1, 1996 South Korea 10 won, 5 Thai baht, 5 New Caledonian francs and a 2010 Mauritius rupee.

I find it hilarious our junk coins from 1967 to 2004 are still circulating there.

You guys seriously need to scrap the large and worthless cupronickel from 60 years ago and join the cheap plated steel coin wave of NZ and now the whole Pacific.

What's the wear like on plated steel? Our 1966 cupronickel coins often look nearly as good as the year they were made. Lots of 1966 ones still doing the rounds. Not 100% mind you, but still good enough.
