I've found a few first prefix notes in change or from the atm. Most were $50 notes so sadly they end up back in the pool. Just too much money to put aside (for minimal profit at the moment)

Found a relatively worn 1983 $1 note in a book I bought from the swapmeet a few weeks ago. Been keeping it in my wallet since and thought I could use it for a game of pool. Things didn't exactly go to plan...

Not sure whether my haul today should be classified under "Notes I've found", but while conducting my weekly 20c/50c exchange with the local branch of the CBA, I casually enquired whether they had any old 1s and 2s handed in that I could exchange. The teller advised that he had about $45 worth.

I was rather excited but confused when he brought back a box full of notes. Oh well.

I proceeding it exchanging $65 for 3 x $1 Johnston/Stone (one of which was my first DPS), 21 x $2 Johnston/Fraser (4 dead ones), 2 x $5 Fraser/Cole, 1 x $10 Fraser/Cole no PIL. I was very surprised at the condition of some of the $2 notes. Very few marks or creases.

I'll be going back tomorrow for the remaining $10 notes and $20 notes. There were a heap of $50 and $100, but they are a little too expensive for my tastes.

Happy to pick a few of them up if someone wants to do a one for one swap.

I could probably handle up to $500 at a time. You can decide if you want $50s or $100s.

I don't know how many are there so potentially I could keep going back until they were all gone.

I went to my local Westpac branch today and asked if they had any old notes. They had $58 in $1s and & $72 in $2s but were most were either torn or in poor condition. Nothing worth keeping.

Now worth Face Value +10%!!

I just got a AA07 $50 note from the ATM , Worth keeping it looks Unc ?

I also got one from the bank recently.  I still find it hard to believe the note is already 6 years old but still brand new.

depending on condition.. Have a look in a renniks or Maccas book. other than that I can't tell you as I don't really buy them, just keep what I get from bank or change.

One upside of switching to lower denomination sacks is I got a fistfull of notes back... Not much to write home about though... A AA and a 5-digit radar. *yawn*
