Petersham, who went

Petersham coin (and stamp) fair was on today. Anybody else go and any good pickups?
Blew most of my spending money at Pacific Rim, a nice '52 florin struck with chrome dies was my best pickup. Chris had mentioned at the last fair (July) that he was sending a bunch of 52 florins to PCGS (he hoped to get at least one in MS65 and if he got 2 I'd be up for it). Chris said today that PCGS has tightened up the grading and nothing came back higher than MS64. He is so disapointed with the grades that he has stopped sending and now will be selling his high grades raw. Got all his nice stuff on cards and I picked up 7 coins. Also spent my next weeks spending money on a toned '53 sixpence (MS66 :yahoo:) from him.
Then on to Drake to spend the last of my money.
Oh well, at least I worked this long weekend (a triple shift) enough to feed my habit :sleepy:

Was a fairly quiet show compared to previous ones. Next one might even be quieter at it's scheduled for the 30th December.

Have not been to the Petersham coin + stamp fair for 33years. I remember Chris from Pacific Rim auctions when he had just left Jaggards and was out on his own Wheeling + dealing coins. Bought some very nice  florins from him in the good old 80tees..
