Thought I would do an update for ya, been a bit busy recently, but I have got some spare time to keep all me peeps up to date this morning.
2013 $2 Copper Aluminium and Nickel Colour Printed Coin – 60th Anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation
A central circle enclosing a stylised representation of St Edward’s Crown. Surrounding the central circle there is a pattern of purple coloured stripes superimposed on 3 concentric circles. The design includes the inscriptions ‘EIIR CORONATION’, ‘60 YEARS’ and ‘TWO DOLLARS’ as well as three representations of a dot.
2013 $2 Copper Aluminium and Nickel Colour Printed ‘C’ Mintmark Coin – 60th Anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation
A central circle enclosing a stylised representation of St Edward’s Crown. Surrounding the central circle there is a pattern of purple coloured stripes superimposed on 3 concentric circles. The design includes the inscriptions ‘EIIR CORONATION’, ‘60 YEARS’ and ‘TWO DOLLARS’ as well as two representations of a dot. The design also includes the letter ‘C’, which denotes the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra.
2013 20c Copper and Nickel Coin – The Ashes
A background including 9 fanned stripes, of which 5 are plain and 4 contain an ornamental pattern comprising of dots. In the foreground, a representation of a batsman playing cricket and a representation of a cricket ball. The design includes the inscriptions ‘THE’, ‘ASHES’, ‘SINCE’, ‘1882’, ‘20’ and the initials of the designer Aleksandra Stokic ‘AS’.
2013 $1 Copper Aluminium and Nickel Coin – 60th Anniversary of the Korean War
A representation of a dove superimposed on a stylised representation of the yin and yang symbol, which, in turn, is filled in by an ornamental design comprising of a series of equidistant lines. The design includes a representation of the Korean pictograph pronounced ‘pyung hwa’ and meaning ‘peace’ and the inscriptions ‘KOREAN WAR’, ‘60TH ANNIVERSARY’, ‘1953-2013’ and a representation of a dot.
2014 $1 Silver Coin – Explorers’ First Sightings
A representation an Australian bush scene. The design includes a representation of a kangaroo facing right and a kangaroo facing left and leaning towards the ground. The inscriptions ‘ONE DOLLAR’, ‘1 OUNCE FINE SILVER’ and a stylised representation of the designer’s initials ‘AB’ are also included in the design.
2014 $1 Copper, Aluminium and Nickel Coin – Year of the Horse
A central circle containing a representation of a horse facing left. Surrounding the central circle is a representation of a flame and a representation of the Chinese character pronounced ‘mǎ’ and meaning ‘horse’. The design includes four lunes containing identical design elements incorporating the representation of a flame. The inscriptions ‘2014’ and ‘YEAR OF THE HORSE’ are also included in the design.
2014 50c Coin – Year of the Horse *Tetradecagonal
A representation of a horse jumping in a field of grass. The design includes the number ‘50’ and a representation of the Chinese character pronounced ‘mǎ’ and meaning ‘horse’.
2014 $1 Silver Coin – Koala Road Sign
In the foreground, a stylised representation of a diamond shaped road sign, including a representation of an adult koala carrying a joey on its back and clinging to a tree branch. The design includes a line drawing of an octagon and a stylised representation of the Southern Cross. The inscription ‘1 oz .999 Ag’ is also included in the design.
2014 $1 Silver Coin – Saltwater Crocodile Graham
A representation of a crocodile crawling among mangrove in a swamp. The design includes the inscriptions ‘SALTWATER CROCODILE’, ‘GRAHAM – ONE DOLLAR’, ‘1 oz .999 Ag’ and the initials of the designer Tony Dean ‘TD’.
2014 $5 Silver Coin – 25 Years of Territory Government
The design features an outline map of Australian Capital Territory containing the words ‘AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY’ repeated and presented in rows. Five stylised representations of a map of Australia are arranged in a semicircular pattern wherein each map increases in size. The design includes a horizontal and a vertical line as well as the inscriptions ‘25 YEARS OF TERRITORY GOVERNMENT’ and ‘5 DOLLARS’
2015 $5 Silver Coin – 125 Years of State Government
The design features an outline map of Western Australia containing the words ‘WESTERN AUSTRALIA’ repeated and presented in rows. Five stylised representations of a map of Australia are arranged in a semicircular pattern wherein each map increases in size. The design includes a horizontal and a vertical line as well as the inscriptions ‘125 YEARS OF STATE GOVERNMENT’ and ‘5 DOLLARS’.
*note some of these coin designs, like the lunar coins, will come in several versions, like silver and gold types.
