I think they have ben designed with the purple at the bottom of a groove so that it wont wear off. The colour should last longer than the Canadian ones did.
I got my mint pack of 5. One of them is very baggy but the other 4 are ok. It is a mystery to me why we had to ring up to order them. Surely it would have been easier for everyone to be able to order them on line. This is the 21st century after all.

Heh. We're still dragging the mint, kicking and screaming, into the 19th...

Now, be fair -I think they have already just entered the 20th millennium.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Got my bag of 5 today. They've been bagged up just like Armaguard bags in RAM wrappers but the condition is very poor. They have many bagmarks and black tone spots already.

Yup. No special care whatsoever was taken.
One thing I've been considering to stop further degradation...
A friend of mine found a cheap commercial vacuum pump on ebay many years ago, and attached a hypodermic needle on the end of some plastic tubing. He seals up delicate electronics, inserts the needle, sucks the air out, then tapes over the tiny hole.
With these bags, that would stop both the coins moving around and bagging further, and any aerobic chemical reactions. Just a thought.

Are we sure the bag is coin friendly material?
Agreed with above comments. Mine arrived today and a little surprised at lack of care in packaging.

Polyethylene is safe. Both LDPE (coin bags, ziplocks etc) and HDPE (milk bottles and such).
By the way, the difference in LDPE films really comes down to mechanical properties, not chemical ones. If the film is stretched during manufacture for example, the molecules align so it exhibits traits such as the way Armaguard bags tear easily in one direction but not the other. Pretty versatile stuff.
