Has PCGS changed their attitude to faults?

Noticed on ebay today several pre decimals in PCGS slabs as mint errors from the same seller. These are lamination faults and similar defects (and fairly ho hum rather than spectacular faults). Check out Ebay item 273149761554 (a 1953 shilling in only AU53 with a lamination fault). Didn't PCGS usually no grade these sorts of faults not that long ago (or downgrade them?

It has to be much cheaper than that (for some, not us). The seller is a big dealer and has at least a dozen fairly ordinary to OK defects (lamination faults, struck through, minor edge clip) in very ordinary grades (the lowest I saw was a 1954 shilling in VF25 with lamination fault). The majority will probably sell at well under $65 (and that is not taking into account that $65 becomes $85 after adjusting exchange rates).
I do have a few lamination fault coins in regular slabs, nothing major though.
I think the best fault was a broadstruck in AU58 for a late date sixpence. Very mundane and all us error collectors probably have a dozen better examples.

It all depends on what the dealer has negotiated in their contracts, including errors in economy submissions or whatever it is.  They wont allow you to submit all errors however, there are criteria as to what will be accepted in economy and which must still go to error service.
Hong Kong submission centre allows you to submit those errors with other regular submission level coins and you just pay a $15US per coin fee for an error designation. Can make it cheaper if you only have a few but personally I still submit direct to the US to avoid the lengthy turnarounds, costs more but 4 weeks vs 20 weeks pays for itself.
