I can't recall if I have shown these already.

I had a couple of Casey's Cartwheels that failed the PVC test from PCGS. They "suggested" I pay for their restoration to remove residual surface adhesions. I decided to give it a go so I sent them back.

The grades are what I'd expect from the pics. Nice to have an unc 1938.

I bought a 1938 MS62 a few years back, not expecting I would have one of mine graded that well. So now I have two.
What did your one from NZ cost, if you don't mind me asking.

Tane is doing that for $140, but I am just supplying coins as a trade.
He also has a NZ 1956 "strapless" penny for me, which is the last pre-decimal circulation coin I need.

The reverse doesn't look bad but I'm a bit concerned about the observe. Are they scratches to the left and below George's chin? It could be the crappy TV I'm viewing it on too.

I don't know, I don't have the coin in hand yet. These are just pics Tane sent me, that I have stitched together.
I'm not too fussed anyway, it fills the hole.

1930 penny... hmm. As I understand it there are about 110 legitimate 1930 pennies and about 25000 knock offs. Good luck with that. Glad I don't collect pennies or hap-pennies.

And I can't zoom your 1938 crown for some reason. How does the obverse look in hand?

Its just some black toning stain Gweidon. I got it cheap in NZ ($125) and its graded high VF. Like 99.9% of the coins in my silly country, its likely cleaned in the past (1980s/90s) and those lines are likely abrasion marks. Steve knew this was very much a "B" coin and I priced it accordingly, it came out of a Downies flip, so we know its real.

Looking at the thread name "Casey's cartwheels" I was wondering what the heck you will talking about. Who was Casey.

I myself have 3 of them, a pair of worn 1937s (AU with pitting and gVF) and a nice 1938 (AU) which I am sure I have shown in the past.

Casey's Cartwheels was the nick-name given to these large silver five shillings after Lord Casey - Treasurer of Australia issued these for circulation. Being so heavy they weren't well received by the general public so they only lasted for two years.

Cool, hard coin I don't have ay spares, both 1915 Florins are hard coins to get. Mine is a bare VG and it was still like $80 or so in 2021.
