I near done that to a VK many many years ago and shredded a set of tyres and cracked a mate up because I covered the road with smoke from treeline to treeline and as high as the trees, oh thems were the days, too many cops around these days and don't quite have the money to "burn" like I did back then, yes a bit of a rev head back then :blush2: But the old ute slows me up these days, luckily
Mate did that thing fly and got it after someone did a lot of work lowering so you couldn't see the top of the tyre and you could do 120 pull the hand break on and stay on the road..in the dry :winkextra: We use to also love to rally and a bluebird I had was a cracker Oh the memories of days gone by.
Oh and that was going straight into a burn out hehe

Yes, I thought the smoke rings were very good.
Reminds me of having an engine party. Go to a remote place in the scrub and every team brings a motor, plenty of petrol and booze; drain the oil, no radiator (or fan, if air cooled). Start all engines and stand back and watch, tinnie in hand.
The winner is the one whose engine expires last. Datsun L series motors (180B or similar) seem to do well for this.

PS. Desirable to have a few fire extinguishers too. And tie them down well -some have a habit of wanting to run away when internals start cracking up and they lose balance.

Gee I should mate a ratrod out of my ute and put either a 253 or small block 454 and 12 micky's on the arse, yeah that would be good with the light weight aluminium tray trying to keep it on the ground :laugh2:
:laugh2: so lets have one, we also use to bonnet surf behind, gee I'm surprised none of us got hurt or even killed.
A mate had an old crown that was a bush basher and we flogged that to death, ended with no exhaust after hitting the cattle trails and shot nice flames out the side and the noise but was a blast.

While I was looking for those fish photo's I found this that I took in the pits at bathurst

and also found one of the old VK, see how low it was and when I put it on the hoist the springs would have fallen out if it wasn't for the shockies, all pedders suspension with a big torsion bar under the bonnet about an inch thick, gee I should get another one

I saw a 392 hemi with twin blowers at the Summernats one year but those pics are extreme!

Yes you can say that again, it's amazing what some people can do with a motor, one thing I wouldn't mind doing one year as I haven't been to the nats, would Mrs Uni give you a pass for some time off one day, maybe if I suck up to her as well :winkextra:
