Hey Uni, check out the Honda N1300 engine. Air cooled, transverse mounted, four carbies.
Now what othe type of vehicles did that company make?

3 litres, 12 cylinders, 414 bhp @ 11,500 rpm. Impressive exhaust system and what a great sound.

Yes,there were some wierd exhaust systems back then,great F1 era for sound.
Not just F1,the Datsun 710 Violet Rally cars that came out here for the 1974(?) Southern Cross had  wild extractors,they went up and around before going down in the Engine bay to the exhaust.
The Service Crew,none spoke English,let me take a Pic of them.I'll try and find it and Post.

Jeff, I'm a tad partial to the EK Type R's. The B16B motors are freaks. My son has had so many EK's along with a couple of CRXs (The one that had the B16 motor in it was ....... terrifying)

I never liked Honda motors.
Probably stems from the early days of Honda Civics (EB1 engine if I remember correctly).
They seemed to crap themselves very quickly and were more expensive than a V8 to rebuild.

lol .... I was never a fan either Steve, but once a V-Tech cuts in one's opinion seems to change very QUICKLY. :laugh2:

I still wouldn't buy one. General lack of spare parts outside of the dealers, so you pay through the nose.
I would rather own something more common. Toyotas are probably the best for spares in the aftermarket.
Especially for 4WDs. Don't even think of buying a Great Wall.

The idea of buying a Great wall has never crossed my mind. Someone I know bought a SsangYong and soon regretted it.
I will stick with my 27 year old Hilux. Very reliable and spares easy to get and not too expensive. I do admit, while it gets from A to B it is not a ball of fire -but I can put a lot on the tray, especially if I remove the trunk (two minute job, no tools required).
